These sensors, when operating as intended, provide a vehicle’s management software with key data that is used when calculating an engine’s fuel trims.
However, like any electrical component, a vehicle’s oxygen sensors are prone to eventual failure. When such failure occurs, a diagnostic fault code is often stored by the vehicle’s ECM/PCM.
One such O2 sensor-related fault code is P0134. This code is not only indicative of an operational error but rather a total lack of any detectable activity.

What Does Code P0134 Mean?
